秘密特工丹尼爾·羅特蘭德終于要如愿以償：在最終取得了他的“老板”凱勒—妓院黑手黨頭目的信任后，丹尼爾要被引見給凱勒勢力強大的合伙人，這個犯罪集團的真正幕后首腦。凱勒，盡管已經得知丹尼爾是秘密特工，他也明白必須除掉丹尼爾，可他卻不想親自動手。不久，凱勒被合伙人殺害，丹尼爾也因此失明。成了盲人的丹尼爾仍舊要逃避聯邦警察的追蹤，因為他們不相信存在那個神秘合伙人。丹尼爾出乎意料地跟勞拉·凱勒，“妓院老板”的女兒走到了一起。他推測這個幕后首腦就身在聯邦警局?？墒钦l呢？怎么把他找出來？假意承認自己謀殺的罪行，丹尼爾請所有聯邦警局的高級官員到場召開了會議。在會上，丹尼爾聽出了那個幕后首腦的聲音。假裝一時魯莽大意，丹尼爾跟勞拉成功地將他引進了圈套。但是如何讓他坦白罪行？還有，更重要的是，如何保護自己免于他的毒手？
