出生在都柏林的Tom Whyte年幼時隨父母搬到了英格蘭。本想靠攝影闖出一片天地的他，如今只能依靠妻子Elaine外出打工供養一家。如今40歲的Tom只能留守家中做全職煮夫，照顧兩個孩子。Tom的爸媽也放心不下這個兒子，也隔三差五的來家里瞧瞧。而且Tom的好朋友Roddy也是經常過來為這本來就多姿多彩的生活添油加醋。
