愛麗絲（Keeley Hawes飾）和她相伴20年的伴侶哈里（Harry）搬入了他們夢寐以求的新家，哈里卻不幸意外從樓梯滾落身亡。在他死后，愛麗絲相繼發現了若干男人——包括她故去的前任——的種種秘密，而哈里似乎是所有人當中最卑劣的……
本劇將以黑色喜劇的方式向觀眾如實呈現愛麗絲在伴侶去世后所經歷的一段充滿悲傷與愛的人生旅程。男人們往往喜歡把他們不愿意面對的東西塞進角落里藏起來，因此，在伴侶去世后，愛麗絲震驚的發現自己陷入了一場生死攸關的、充滿欺騙與混亂的迷局中。
