美國特工局最“精明”的特工名叫麥克斯維?精明（唐?亞當斯飾），特工代號86。他是美國特工局的一名特工人員。根據他的領導——“頭兒”（愛德華?普拉特飾）的指示，麥克斯維與邪惡的混沌組織做著不懈的斗爭。使用特種部隊的“獨特”武器，麥克斯維與他的搭檔——99號特工（芭芭拉?菲爾頓飾）一次次的擊碎了混沌組織毀滅世界的陰謀，與特工局的全體同事一起立下了豐功偉績。當然，他們同時也鬧出了一串串的笑話。
