故事講述Laura Simmonds和她的巴塞羅那領事同事兼朋友Alba Ortiz，為保護那些在加泰羅尼亞地區陷入困境的英國國民而戰斗。Laura和Alba擔任的角色混合了律師、顧問和警察，她們的外交技巧在解決各種困境中發揮到了極致。
