故事發生在一個風景秀麗的英國小鎮中，安吉拉帶著兒子盧克像往常一樣來到了兒童游樂場，兩人都以為今天也只不過是他們日復一日的平凡生活的一個縮影而已，可是，悲劇發生了，當盧克離開家人和其他孩子一起玩耍時，安吉拉被一個神秘的兇手殺死了。而唯一的目擊證人是一個名叫露西（萊斯利·夏普 Lesley Sharp 飾）的女人。
