羅素（讓-保羅·盧弗 Jean-Paul Rouve 飾）是一名犯罪小說家，他的作品曾經紅極一時，很受讀者的喜愛和追捧。然而，近日里，羅素的寫作遭遇了瓶頸，他發現自己竟然無法再寫出有趣而又吸引人的作品了。羅素的一位遠房親戚去世了，留給了羅素一些遺物，因此，羅素來到了位于法國和瑞士交界處的小小村莊里?！ ∫黄鹬\殺案的發生震驚了整個村莊，亦引起了羅素的好奇，死者是名為坎迪斯（蘇菲·奎茵頓 Sophie Quinton 飾）的女子，她是當地赫赫有名的美人。警方跳過了調查和取證階段，直接將坎迪斯的死定性為自殺，這讓敏感的羅素發現了其中的可疑。職業習慣讓羅素決定靠自己的力量，調查事件的真相。
